When East Meets West!
Where the renowned pottery of Morocco intertwines with the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi.
What You’ll Experience:
Immerse yourself in the Japanese art of kintsugi, where you’ll create a uniquely restored ceramic piece to take home.
Kintsugi, an ancient art, embodies the philosophy of embracing imperfection by mending broken pottery with gold, highlighting the beauty in its cracks.
In this hands-on class, your skilled tutor will guide you through the history and philosophy of Kintsugi while helping you create your own masterpiece. Kintsugi isn’t just a remedy for broken treasures—it’s a celebration of the mending process itself.
With the guidance of your teacher, you’ll learn how to mend your broken piece using modern mix techniques, embracing the “perfectly imperfect” result that kintsugi celebrates. Leave the workshop with not only a deep understanding of Kintsugi but also your own handmade piece as a memento of this calming, therapeutic experience.
Please note, your final creation is a decorative piece – for display only – not suitable for food use, microwaves, ovens, or dishwashers.
No previous experience or special skills are needed to take part and enjoy this mindful, creative experience.
